I would like to thank the voters of the Rother Valley for re-electing me as their Member of Parliament.
It is an honour to have been re-elected and a great privilege to be able to continue to represent local residents.
The turnout in the Rother Valley constituency was 63.3%, the highest of all the Rotherham seats.
Whilst the outcome of the general election nationally was very disappointing, there now needs to be a strong and vocal opposition to this Government. They’ve made promises on the NHS - if they break them, they need to be called out on it, and fought every step of the way. They are also threatening £12 billion of welfare cuts, so everything must be done to protect those who will suffer the most.
I will continue to be a voice for the people in the Rother Valley who don’t have a voice. Whether it is against authorities or organisations, over the next five years I will stand up for local people.
