Events have been taking place across the country to mark Volunteers’ Week, which runs from 1-7 June.
Volunteers’ Week is an annual celebration in recognition of all the hard work volunteers take part in.
As part of the Week’s celebrations and to highlight the amazing work being carried out by volunteers every day across the borough, Voluntary Action Rotherham held a Volunteer Walk earlier this week through Rotherham town centre and on up to Clifton Park.
Volunteers are central to the work of countless charities and organisations. They are a valuable presence in many communities, helping out in places as diverse as sports clubs, libraries, schools and hospitals.
There are 155 charities in the Rother Valley, involving over 350 volunteers and I would like to thank all for their ongoing contribution.
