I am happy to support the Keep Me Posted campaign to protect the right of people to choose how they receive their bills and statements.

The campaign is a partnership of 76 charities, consumer organisations, trade unions and businesses fighting to ensure that every consumer in the UK has the choice of how they receive communications from utility companies, including energy companies, banks and other services providers without financial penalty. Some people prefer the post, others prefer a digital format and many prefer a combination of both.

The campaign is about to celebrate its second anniversary and to date four companies with a combined customer base of around 10 million have given their customers the guaranteed right to choose how they receive bills without financial penalty. These are people with a wide variety of social needs; carers, the young, disabled, rural dwellers, the elderly, those in poverty or a regular consumer who would just like the choice to receive their bills on paper without being charged for the privilege.
