This week (8-14 June) is Carers Week, which this year focuses on building carer-friendly communities as well as providing the opportunity to highlight the support and services on offer to families.
There are now an estimated 116,000 carers over the age of 85 in England alone, many of whom put their own health at risk by caring for their loved one. We need to better support carers and those they care for, by working to build carer-friendly communities.
The Rotherham Carers Forum will be hosting an information table outside the front entrance to the RAIN Building in Rotherham this Friday (12 June) between 11am and 2pm to celebrate Carers Week. Representatives from Rotherham Carers Corner will be promoting and answering questions on the Care Act.
