Youth and school sports in Rother Valley face huge cuts by the Coalition Government. The scale of these cuts threaten to reverse all the hard work over the past decade that has got more young people involved in sport.

Parents want to see their children competing on the pitch, in the pool or in the gym because sport is also the best way of keeping youngsters fit, healthy and doing something worthwhile with their free time.

The previous Government's guarantee of five hours of PE and sport to young people is also being scrapped, with every local school losing thousands of pounds provided for PE.

Ten years ago just one in five local kids did two hours of sport a week. After years of extra investment more than nine out of ten do so today. All of this is now under threat.
