Planning Aid Funding Axed

The Government has decided to end Planning Aid's funding from 31 March.

Planning Aid provided free advice and support to community groups and individuals who needed help with planning problems. It also provided a programme to help people understand the planning system and influence what happened in their local area. Last year, under the previous Government, support for Planning Aid was increased.

The axing of Planning Aid seems even stranger when taken in the context of the Localism Bill, the aspiration of which is to supposedly empower local communities.
