Concern About MoT Proposals

I am concerned to hear about the Government’s proposals to reduce the number of MoT tests vehicles are required to undergo.

The Government is consulting on less frequent MoTs despite its own figures showing that this would lead to an increase in road accident injuries and deaths. The options being considered include delaying by a year when the first MoT on a new car must take place or requiring MoTs to take place every other year.

Such ill-thought out moves are opposed by drivers, a recent survey of members of the AA found that the majority are against reductions of the number of tests available.
