With Remembrance Sunday this weekend, it was saddening to hear that the Prime Minister will not be backing a call by the Royal British Legion to keep the role of Chief Coroner for bereaved families.
This is a failing by the Government to honour their promise and commitment to the Military Covenant and makes a mockery of its assurances of greater support for the military and their families.
Now, more than any time of year, we must remember the sacrifices made by those in the Forces who have served and do serve our country with such courage and patriotism.
This Sunday I will be joining local people and community groups at the Remembrance Parade in Maltby. I would like to thank all those who help organise the remembrance events that take place throughout our area.
