The BBC Trust has recently made its interim response to the proposals to make savings at the BBC. The Trust has endorsed most of the BBC proposals but has asked the BBC to look again at some areas.

These include the extent to which local radio should share afternoon content and sports commentaries with their neighbouring stations. I know that many people are deeply concerned about shared programming as it will result in a loss of vital distinct information.

The Trust is due to publish its final conclusions in the springtime. The Trust’s interim findings can be viewed at www.bbc.co.uk/bbctrust/index.shtml
