The Thurcroft Gala is taking place on Bank Holiday Monday (27 August) on the recreational field off New Orchard Lane in the village. With a fun run starting at 10am and the Gala itself starting at 12pm, it promises to be a day of activities and events for all to enjoy.
As well as a tug of war and five-a-side football, there will be marquees, circus performers, a climbing wall, a bouncy castle and children's rides.
The Gala will also include the launch of Thurcroft Big Local, part of a pioneering Big Lottery Fund scheme to put decision-making power in the hands of local people. Thanks to this scheme Thurcroft has been allocated £1million to spend on improving the village.
I would like to congratulate everyone who has helped organise the Gala and I also hope that local residents and community groups continue to contribute to making the Thurcroft Big Local a success.
