Across the UK we have excess winter deaths in our older population every year as a result of the cold weather. With rising energy prices and the colder weather we have been experiencing, older people in Rotherham will be worrying even more about keeping warm and well this winter.

Age UK Rotherham are offering a range of free information and support to older people up to 31 March 2013. This help is available whether people own their own house or live in rented housing.

The help offered includes information packs about how to keep warm, tips and advice on heating your home effectively, practical handyman help, advice about welfare benefits/additional entitlements available for older people and small grants to help with bills via the South Yorkshire Community Foundation.

For further information please contact Age UK Rotherham on 01709 835214 between 9.30am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
