The British Council have launched new initiatives aimed at helping UK young people develop their employability through international opportunities.
A new website for 16-25 year olds – Study, Work, Create (www.britishcouncil.org/more/study-work-create) provides a single gateway to quick links about programmes that offer UK young people international opportunities to study, work, volunteer and develop their creative ideas around the world. There are thousands of opportunities on over 30 different programmes in more than 80 countries. This will make it easier for UK young people and their families to find the wide range of international opportunities available to them.
One example of the opportunities featured on the site is Generation UK (www.britishcouncil.org/more/study-work-create/generation-uk), a new programme to encourage and support UK student mobility to China. The goal of Generation UK is to create a new generation of more globally, culturally and business aware young people, and the programme aim is for at least 15,000 UK students to either study or gain work experience in China by 2016.
