More Sport For All

Sport is important to local people and that makes it a public priority. We enjoy our sport; it keeps us healthy and helps our local economy. Yet this Government has wasted the Olympic legacy. We need to do more to get healthy and I want to support this.

If we are going to get more people active then we have to empower the people involved in sport in the Rother Valley to have more influence over how we plan, organise and deliver sport and physical education at local level.

Increasing participation is not something that can be dictated from central government. We have to agree on a long term set of objectives and then all play our part in achieving them.

I would be interested to hear people’s views on how everyone, from children through to the elderly, can be supported to do more sport and physical activity. Please e-mail me your views to kevin.barron.mp@parliament.uk
